Chyandaunce

Built in the late 19th century, 'Chyandaunce' was enlarged to become a farm house and in 1998 was completely refurbished while retaining its traditional style. With three double bedrooms it sleeps 8, and with the bed settee, 10.

The Climate Change Challenge

Like most of the population we are very concerned about climate change. At Chyandaunce we are doing our best to keep our carbon footprint as low as possible.

Solar and Photovoltaic Panels
All our heating is by electricity. Several years ago we installed solar panels for heating the water and a few years later added photovoltaic panels to create electricity for our use and to feed into the grid. Both work very successfully, especially when we have a good summer.

Good Energy
Our electricity supplier is Good Energy, a 100% renewable energy company.

Double-glazing
All our windows are double-glazed. and the majority of our curtains are lined.

Recycling
We have purchased recycling bags from Biffa so that our guests can easily recycle their cardboard, paper, cans and some plastics.

The owners have deep roots in the Penzance area and fully support the local plastic-free initiative, as well as other local and national policies to protect the environment.
